Kitchen and bathrooms are usually made out of the same materials BUT it’s the aesthetics that makes them appear so different visually. You can select the same material for the two spaces but in the end, when you will give the right finish to the bathroom and the kitchen while creating a unique and different flair for each of these spaces – you would get entirely different spaces in return.
This is how modern design works! You can select any space in your house and decorate it according to this theme, it will not only transform the space but will also make it appear unique and creative.
We thought of coming up with a unique idea. Designing a kitchen and a bathroom in a modern theme while keeping the consistency unchanged.

The Challenge
We decided to have a kitchen and bathroom decorated in a modern theme to keep up the sleekness and chicness game, meanwhile making sure that the space appears to be luxurious, warm, and inviting at the same time.
The modern kitchen and bathroom design is very common across the globe and it is in demand as well because of its practicality and uber-chic appearance. So the challenge we had on our hands was designing a modern sleek kitchen along with a bathroom. Let’s have a look at the challenges

The Inspiration
While designing a modern kitchen, it is very important to keep in mind that this space must be functional yet the style quotient shall be top-notch. A design must appear to be clean and also it should be simple while achieving the modern feel with the help of aesthetically placing the accessories as well as keeping the design minimalist yet fashionable.
The inspiration was taken from the internet streamlining different kitchens designed according to a modern minimalistic approach. While keeping the main design clutter-free it was important to add decorative items and a few embellishments to give out a warm and welcoming feel to the kitchen.
For the modern bathroom, we decided to go for a spa-like modern bathroom. It would appear to be clean and a space where the client can relax in serenity and peace. The bathroom must be hundred percent functional as well must be accompanied by ample storage space so that the space can remain clutter-free and there is no unnecessary stuff scattered around.
The background chosen for both kitchen and the bathroom was neutral as this will give out a dynamic look – perfect for the minimalistic approach.
The Moodboard
Designing a moodboard was rather easy as the requirements of these designs were very straightforward and easily accessible as well.
It was decided that the composition of both the kitchen and bathroom would be kept sleek but simple. Thanks to the neutral color pallets, this was easily achieved with the help of clean lines and meticulously embellished wooden accents. The elements of dark wood stood out in front of the silver shade of modern kitchen appliances which perfectly capture the idea of “minimal but inviting” in its maximum galore.
For the bathroom, as mentioned above the approach of a spa-like bathroom was decided. So, on moodboard it was easy to decide that a freestanding bathtub would look perfect along with a chic walk-in shower that would steal the show.
It was also decided that the bathroom should be connected with the help of glass as it is more functional and appears to be attractive at the same time.
To keep the space clutter-free, the rest of the stuff in the bathroom was only functional, the beauty was already enhanced with the help of minimalistic putting up a freestanding bathtub.
Modern Kitchen and Bathroom Design
The modern kitchen became the focal point of the home thanks to the massive island made out of white stone. The island was designed in such a way that it popped out paired up with black stools – keeping the contrast of streamlined and lightweight form intact.
This was such an eye-catching and appealing modern kitchen that without much effort it can be created without the help of a designer. All it needs is the right kind of blending of all the different accessories and ornaments to keep the harmony of the kitchen flowing while the theme revolves around sound modernity and minimalism.
For the modern bathroom design, the bathtub was placed in front of the mirror giving it more like a window feel. On the other hand, the shower side also followed the same approach of minimalist yet modern design as being followed in the kitchen.
The neutral background stood out in front of the black fixtures perfectly, making it appealing to the eyes.
The modern bathroom decorations were placed like lights, tiles, and storage cabinets to achieve the goal of keeping the bathroom warm and inviting. It was reflected with the help of scent diffusers, towels, and a big piece of abstract art on the wall.
The result was a perfect composition of different stuff coming together to appear cohesive and joined parts of a big picture.
Final thoughts on Kitchen and Bathroom Design
It was actually fun designing the modern kitchen and bathroom with the help of a minimalistic design approach. The bathroom was easy to do as all it required was a spa-like retreat whereas the result of a modern kitchen was a pleasant and aesthetically beautiful showcase of a high-end finished kitchen consisting of sleek white marble, wooden accents, and customized cabinets.
