With the advent of technology, the working environment has been totally transformed. The world has undergone a 360-degree change when it comes to the dynamics of workplaces and professions.
Thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, work from home has become a reality leading to a totally different working environment that is closer to home and is definitely flexible.
Working from home led to different professions sprouting on the surface and soon live streaming, broadcasting, and filming gained immense popularity attracting more and more people to this profession. This paved the way for our next challenge. We decided to create a home YouTube studio that is in accordance with the demand of today’s world. It needs to have everything a YouTube workplace requires while keeping the aesthetic quotient intact.
For a home YouTube studio, it is best to create a chic office infusing industrial objects and themes so that the live broadcasts of YouTube can have a sleek and practical background raising the aesthetic bar.
Let’s dive in to find out what we were able to create in such an exciting new theme.
The Challenge:
The foremost challenge is to create a space that is multi-functional. It needs to serve both as a home as well as a workplace. This was exciting because this concept is still new in the market pushing the designers to think out of the box and come up with unique and innovative ideas.
The challenge at hand was:
- Designing a place that gives equal vibes of home and office
- Mandatory to be clutter-free
- The room must showcase the flexibility
- An appealing backdrop for the YouTube videos
- The studio setup should not disturb the harmony of the home
- Storage solutions- must be attractive
- Additional seating in case of late working hours apart from the working desk
- A featured wall preferably in a dark neutral shade
The inspiration:
Even though this setup is still relatively new in the market, it is not like the ideas are not floating on the internet. The inspirational pictures on Pinterest and other search engines showed that the web filming and live broadcasts were conducted with attractive backdrops. This is the trend these days which gives the room a professional touch.
So, it was decided to make an infusion between the industrial-style interior design theme and the minimalistic theme while keeping everything modern. This made the interior canvas very diverse making an overall good and lasting impression.
Another inspiration that was taken from the pictures was great lightning, keeping everything bright and the surfaces to be clean and neat.
The Moodboard:
It was decided to have a featured wall composed of limewash in a darker tone that will become the center of attention of the home as well as will be the backdrop for the videos. The gray wall at the backdrop was completed with the help of the addition of artwork, plants, and industrial-themed shelves.
As it was decided to make storage mandatory and that too stylish, large storage spaces were designed to keep the filming equipment away when not in need.
An ergonomic chair along with a lounger would be perfect for the workroom along with an L-shaped desk and sofa for both work and reclination after work.
Home YouTube studio design:
According to the mood board, A high-end chic and luxurious designer YouTube studio but it still had the department of home left and that was the main challenge I.e., to strike a balance between home and workplace while making it appear effortless and seamless.
It was decided to come up with a double featured wall that will make the aesthetics please with the color combination of deep gray wall, green plants, and furnishing in beige and dark brown – a lethal combo!
To compliment the rich color scheme, it would be perfect to pair it up with a vaulted ceiling. The upper tier should be kept white in order to maximize the light. Once it was decided to keep the room minimalist but the lightning source would be more than required, the dark all brought out a depth and contrast between the room components. The overall look would be nothing but captivating and stunning.
YouTube home studio details and setup:
The L-shaped sit-to-stand desk was brought in to be the main working space for the YouTuber. This is the space where the person can move his laptop, or desktop while standing or sitting and filming different movements. The layout makes it easy for the transition between any activities. This working space was complimented with the lighting that will be brighter because of additional sources of light so that the filming of the videos is up to the mark.
It was mandatory to have an abstract-designed rug over the floor. This brought a handsome change in the atmosphere. The rug will make the space appear cohesive and light as the industrial theme can sometimes become too dark.
The addition of bookshelves will also go well in this studio. The bookshelves can be wooden or steel – as both works well with a minimalist theme. To make final touches to the room, the addition of a planter to the relaxation side will make the room complete as green is always a good source of relaxation.
The only thing left is the storage which should be elegant yet cohesive with the styling of the room.
A chest made out of steel would be perfect along with a large cabinet as per the space and convenience of the Youtuber as this will be the most essential part of the room design. The storage is a mandatory requirement but it will also make the room appear stunning and user friendly.
Final thoughts:
As the world transforms into a global village, new professions sprout over, and work from home is not a joke anymore. For a dedicated working space at home, try the above-mentioned ideas and you won’t be disappointed. These ideas will be perfect if you want a minimalistic design with a modern touch while making the workspace and home relaxation coexist in the same environment!
